Club America is a professional football club based in Mexico City, Mexico. In the 2017 season, the team participated in the Liga MX Apertura and Clausura tournaments, as well as the CONCACAF Champions League.
During the Apertura, Club America finished in 5th place in the regular season, earning them a spot in the playoffs. However, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Tigres UANL.
In the Clausura, Club America finished in 3rd place in the regular season, again earning them a spot in the playoffs. They advanced to the semifinals, but were eliminated by Tijuana.
In the CONCACAF Champions League, Club America advanced to the finals, but were defeated by Mexican rivals Tigres UANL, resulting in a 2nd place finish.
Overall, the 2017 season was seen as somewhat disappointing for Club America, as they failed to win any major trophies.
